I got this one in 2001 it took a little over three hours to complete. The picture was based on the Tinter book with my female brought in as a color and texture reference. Custom needles were made to get the look of the hairs just right. I was quite pleased with it and intend to completely sleeve the arm in the future with different arboreals and a natural looking background. LIke my arm will become the tree they are climbing over.
This is my home away from home. It is where I keep everything with the exception of my dog and my gliders. Well actually the gliders come in to the office with me each day but you get the picture.
As you can see there are various containers everywhere. Around feeding time I have the most popular office in the company.
Surinam Horned Frog
There are several subspecies of Horned frogs. The Surinam is one of the harder to keep in captivity due to it's reluctance to feed on anything but frogs. The Surinam has the largest horns of the different subspecies and like any of the horned frogs is wider than it is long. These are very chunky frogs not designed for moving around with grace but for sitting and waiting to ambush prey. When disturbed they will blow up with air as shown to deter predators. These frogs are legendary for eating food items almost as big as themselves they are basically a big mouth and stomach and not much else.
